Local SEO and Google Business Profile: Get Found in Your Own Town

Websites that bring home-service companies their own leads

Local SEO is how a home-service company shows up when someone nearby searches for its trade. Two things decide it: the Google Business Profile, which feeds the map results, and the website, which needs a page for every town you serve. Most contractors have a half-finished profile and one areas-we-serve list, so they show up for their own street and nowhere else. We complete the profile, build a page for every town crossed with every service, and make sure your name, address, phone and hours are the same on every page and in the profile.

Local searches are most of a home-service company's work. Plumber near me. AC repair in a town name. Roofers in a county. Google answers those two ways: the map block with three businesses, and the page results under it. You want to be in both, in every town you serve, and that takes two separate things.

The first is the Google Business Profile. It feeds the map. Most profiles we look at are missing a category, have no services listed, have three photos and an old phone number. We fill in every field: primary and secondary categories, every service, the service area, hours, a description, photos, and we keep it current. Reviews get answered. Posts go up. The profile stops being an afterthought.

The second is the website, and this is where most local SEO stops short. A profile can rank you in the town where your address is. For the other towns you serve, Google looks for a page on your site about that town. Not a list of towns. A page. If you do twelve towns and eight services, that is up to ninety-six pages, each one written for that town, with the town in the title and the structured data that tells Google the business name, address, phone and the area that page serves. We build them.

Then everything has to agree. Name, address, phone and hours in the profile, on every page, and in the structured data, spelled the same way. When they differ, Google trusts the listing less, and it shows. We fix it once and keep it consistent.

After that the site keeps growing. Reviews go onto the pages, new articles go up monthly, and a log shows you every search bot and AI crawler visit, page by page, so you can see which town pages are being read.

Our process

  1. 1
    We check the profile
Categories, services, hours, photos, service area, description, reviews. Anything missing or wrong gets fixed, and it stays current after.
  2. 2
    We list every town
Every town, suburb or neighborhood you actually work in, with your services crossed against each.
  3. 3
    We build the town pages
One page per town per service, written for that town, with the structured data that tells Google the business and the area it serves.
  4. 4
    We make the details match
Name, address, phone and hours identical on every page, in the profile and in the structured data. Mismatches are a common reason a business does not show on the map.
  5. 5
    We keep it fed
New articles and pages every month, reviews on the pages, and a log of every search bot visit so you can see the town pages being read.

Why Choose Us

You search your trade in a town twenty minutes away, where you work every week, and you are not on the map and not on the page. The three companies that are have a page about that town. You have a list of towns in your footer.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I pay for local SEO?

It depends on how many towns and services you have, because each crossing is a page that has to be written. Tell us your trade and your area and we will tell you how many pages the site needs before anything is priced.

Can I do local SEO myself?

Parts of it. You can complete your own Google Business Profile, and you should keep it current. The town pages are the time-consuming part: one page per town per service, each written for that town. Most owners do not have the hours, which is what we do.

How do I rank on Google Maps in towns other than mine?

The map favors businesses near the searcher, so a profile alone mostly ranks you near your address. For other towns, a page on your site about that town and service gives Google something to rank in the page results, and a complete profile with the service area set helps in the map.

What does Google Business Profile optimization actually do?

It fills in everything Google uses to decide whether to show you: categories, services, service area, hours, photos, description, and review responses. A complete profile shows up more often and for more searches than a half-finished one.

Why am I not showing up in my own town?

The usual reasons are a profile missing categories or services, a name, address or phone that does not match between the profile and the site, or a site with no page about that town. We check all three in the first scan.
