Service area pages are how a home-service company ranks in towns other than the one where its address is. A homeowner searches your trade plus their town. Google looks for a page about that. An areas-we-serve list with thirty town names is one page, and it cannot rank for thirty towns. We build a page for each town, crossed with each service you offer, written for that town, with the structured data that tells Google which area the page serves. Twelve towns and eight services is up to ninety-six pages, and that is what page one looks like.

Home-service searches almost always include a place. A town, a suburb, a county, or near me, which Google turns into a place. That is why service area pages matter more for contractors than for almost any other kind of business. You do not sell to the whole internet. You sell to the towns your trucks reach, and each of those towns is its own search.

Google ranks pages, one at a time, for one search at a time. A single areas-we-serve page with thirty town names is one page, competing for thirty searches, and it loses all of them to sites that have a page for each. So the first step is a page per town. The second step, which most sites skip, is a page per service inside each town. Roof repair in a town and roof replacement in that same town are two different searches and two different pages.

Writing them is the hard part, and it is where most service area pages go wrong. If every town page is the same paragraph with the name swapped, Google notices, and so does a homeowner. We write each page for that town and service: what the job involves there, what homeowners there ask, your photos from work there when you have them, the nearest reviews. It is more work. It is also the difference between a page that ranks and a page Google ignores.

Behind each page goes structured data that names the business, the service, and the area the page serves. That is what lets a town page appear in the map results and be read correctly by AI assistants when someone asks who to call in that town.

The pages link to each other and to the service and question pages, so every page on the site is reachable in two clicks and a sitemap lists them all. When you add a town, you add a page set. When you add a service, it goes into every town. The site grows with the business instead of falling behind it.

Our process

  1. 1
    We list the towns
Every town, suburb, neighborhood or county you actually work in. Real ones only. A page for a town you never go to does not help.
  2. 2
    We cross them with services
Each town gets a hub page, and each service gets a page inside that town. Roof repair in one town, roof replacement in the same town, and so on.
  3. 3
We write each one for the town
Plain copy about that service in that place, not the same paragraph with the town name swapped. Your photos from jobs there when you have them.
  4. 4
    We add the structured data
Each page states the business, the service and the area served in a format Google reads, so it can show in the map results and in AI answers.
  5. 5
    We link and grow
Town pages link to services and questions, and back. New towns get pages when you expand. Articles keep the site growing monthly.

Why Choose Us

Your footer lists every town you work in. You rank in none of them except your own. The company that ranks in each one has a page about that town, with the town in the title, and Google treats that as an answer. Your list is not an answer.

Frequently asked questions

What is a service area page?

A page on your website about one town or area you serve, usually with one page per service inside it. It exists so that when someone searches your trade plus that town, Google has a specific page of yours to show.

How many service area pages do I need?

One per town you actually serve, and inside each, one per service you offer there. A company with twelve towns and eight services needs up to ninety-six, plus the twelve town hub pages.

Are service area pages bad for SEO if they are similar?

Copied pages with the town name swapped are. Google discounts them. Pages written for the town, with different copy, photos and reviews, are what rank. We write each one.

Can I rank in a town where I do not have an office?

In the page results, yes, with a page about that town. The map results favor businesses near the searcher, so a page is the reliable way to show up in towns away from your address.

Can you add service area pages to my existing website?

Yes. If your current site is sound, the town and service pages can be added inside it without a rebuild. Start with the Website Audit and Fixes service to check.
